New permitted work in your trade, on your streets, every Monday.
CrewQuote reads the City of Toronto's public building-permit records, groups the rows into projects, and sends you a weekly digest of the new permitted projects in your trade and your territory.
Check your territory
Pick your trade and enter a postal code. You will see how many new projects landed in that territory in the last 30 days, and the 5 most recent projects, exactly as published. No account, no card.
How it works
- 1. Check your territory. See the real counts and real recent projects for your trade and area, before you pay anything.
- 2. Get your first 5 leads free. We send the 5 most recent issued projects for your trade and territory. Dated, real records, no card.
- 3. Get the Monday digest. Subscribers get the week's new projects by email every Monday, grouped by project, with applications in progress shown separately.
What you get in each digest
- The project address and the permit work, shown as published in the record.
- The issue date, so you can see how fresh each project is.
- Applications in progress, in their own section, labelled with their status as published. Applied for is not issued, and the digest keeps them apart.
- A declared dollar estimate, only where the permit record itself carries one, labelled "declared estimate on the record". Many records carry no usable figure. When they do not, none is shown.
- A plain label where it applies: no contractor named on the permit record.
About that label
Some permit records name a contractor. Many do not. When a record names no contractor, the digest labels it exactly that way. The label describes the permit record only. It is not a promise about the job, and it does not mean a job is open, unclaimed, or waiting.
What the leads do not include
The permit records hold project information: addresses, work descriptions, dates. They do not hold phone numbers, email addresses, or homeowner names, and CrewQuote does not look those up from anywhere else. What you get is the project. Reaching the people behind it is your own follow-up, the way you already work your territory.
How fresh is the data?
The City refreshes the permit data daily. Your digest is weekly, every Monday, built from the current data at send time. A record usually appears in the data a few days after the permit is issued.
Pricing
| Plan | What it is |
|---|---|
| Standard $149 CAD / month |
One trade, one territory. The weekly Monday digest: new issued projects plus applications in progress, grouped by project. Territories on the standard plan are shared, not exclusive. Month to month. Cancel anytime. |
| Exclusive area lock $1,000 CAD / month |
One trade in one territory, held for one subscriber only. The area lock is not open for purchase yet. It opens only when we can hold a territory for one subscriber in the system itself, start to finish. Until then you can register interest and we will tell you when it opens for your trade and territory. |

Questions
Where does the data come from?
From the City of Toronto Open Data portal: the City's public building-permit records, shown as published. The footer of this page carries the licence line for the data.
Which trades are covered?
Plumbing. Mechanical / HVAC. Residential renovation and additions. Demolition and drain. Electrical is not covered: in Ontario, electrical permits are issued by the Electrical Safety Authority, not the City, so electrical permits are not in this data.
What is a territory?
A named group of Toronto postal areas. Scarborough (M1). North York (M2, M3). East York and East Toronto (M4). Downtown and Midtown (M5, M7). York and West End (M6). Etobicoke (M8, M9). Enter any full postal code in the checker and it finds your territory.
Is the standard plan exclusive?
No. Standard territories are shared: another business in your trade can subscribe to the same territory. Exclusivity is what the area lock is for, and it is not open for purchase yet.
Is the dollar figure on a record what the job will cost?
No. Where a record shows a figure, it is the estimate declared on the permit record, printed as published. Treat it as a rough size signal from the record itself, nothing more.
Can I cancel?
Yes. The subscription is month to month. Cancel anytime from your members page and your digests run to the end of the month you have paid for.
Do you cover other cities?
Toronto only, for now. The data here is the City of Toronto's. Other cities publish their permits differently, and each one needs its own check before we would sell it.
